Winning streak ends at 4 as Storm drop game to Dream 89-83
The Seattle Storm used a 4 game winning streak to position themselves for the playoffs in what was a down season, however, Wednesday saw the Storm lose 89-83 to the lowly Atlanta Dream. Dream forward Sancho Lyttle exploded for 18 points on 8-10 shooting from the field. She also pulled in 9 rebounds as Atlanta would dominate the paint with 32 rebounds (to the Storm’s 22).
Sue Bird dished 6 assists as she creeps closer to the record, needing just 6 more to set the WNBA record for career assists. Breanna Stewart kept the Storm in it with 18 points, but the game would slip away with 1:07 left, when Atlanta took an 82-80 lead. A normally strong Seattle defense was on vacation today as they allowed the Dream to shoot 57 percent (35 of 63).
