To say that the Everett Silvertips beat the Tri-City Americans 9-1 is a gross understatement. This was a beat-down of epic proportions. This was an exclamation point when a full stop was needed. This was Tips squad that brought a howitzer to a knife fight.

The epic win in front of 4,617 rabid Tips fans was the fourth and final in the best of 7 series. Forward Bryce Kindopp scored a hat trick and Zack Andrusiak had two goals of his own. WHL Goaltender of the Year Dustin Wolf just missed a 2nd career playoff shutout but made off with allowing just 8 goals over 5 games.

Everett had a 46-23 shot on goal advantage as the Americans looked vastly overwhelmed. After going down by 2 goals, Tri-Cities immediately went to fight mode as they amassed over 56 penalty minutes, mostly for fighting. The Tips would fight back with fists, but most importantly goals. The rough play of the Tri-Cities would not break Everett’s offense as the 9 goals would attest to.
The Tips now take on the Spokane Chiefs in the 2nd round of the WHL Playoffs starting next Saturday, April 6th at Angel of the Winds arena.
