The Everett Silvertips dominated the Prince George Cougars 6-3 on Saturday night under tense circumstances. Playing their 7th game in just 10 days, the Tips were banged up at quite a few spots. Nevertheless, the Tips notched their 42nd win of the season which puts them at 88 points and in a solid position to earn the #1 seed in the playoffs.
It's a great day to be a Silvertip.

Those same injuries kept them on defense as they began to scrape their depth chart.
“We played five ‘D’ out there toward the end to give our forwards a break,” Silvertips head coach Dennis Williams said. “You don’t see that too often. “But our guys are tired. They’ve put in an honest effort and it’s a real gutsy win. And kudos to those guys that played, especially that forward group.”
Wyatte Wylie scored his 10th goal of the season to become the 3rd Tips defense-man to record double digit goals in season—for the 1st time in team history. His was the first of 4 goals before the Cougars could respond. Bryce Kindopp would score a couple of insurance goals late as he would grab his 35th and 36th goals of the season.
The Tips wrapped up its series against the Cougars this season by winning all 4 games by an aggregate score of 20-6. The Silvertips now get a bit of a break to recoup before they take on the Tri-City Americans next Friday at the Angel of the Winds Arena.
