Tuesday, March 24th brought bad news for the Rave Green. Sounders star Clint Dempsey pulled his hamstring while training with the US Men’s National team in preparation for a pair of friendlies this week.
Thankfully, the issue does not appear too serious, and he looks to be back in 2-3 weeks.
The impact of his loss should be relatively minor as Dempsey was likely to miss the next match against FC Dallas on March 28 for National Team duty.
He now may also miss the games against Houston Dynamo on April 4th and possibly even the match against our evil, arch-rival LA Galaxy on April 12.
While of course Dempsey can’t be replaced, don’t be surprised to see Lamar Neagle slide up top to accompany Obafemi Martins at forward. The two played together several times last year when Dempsey was on international duty and produced pretty good results.
