The UW Huskies fell for a second time this season to Wazzu, losing 78-74. With only 2 games left in the regular season, the Huskies cement their position as the #12 seed in the PAC12 playoffs. Now maybe the Huskies could pull off a miraculous PAC12 tournament appearance, but it isn’t likely. And now dropping to a 13-16 record, they will not make .500 for the 1st time in the Mike Hopkins era.

“It’s hard, because I know we’re good,” said Washington coach Mike Hopkins, the two-time defending PAC-12 coach of the year. “We’ve just been that team that shows so many really good signs. It’s like anything. You’re looking for that consistency. Looking to not have that mental lapse.”

The Huskies yet again got solid performances from their frosh stars Isiah Stewart and Jayden Mcdaniels who scored 10 and 19 points respectively; however, there wasn’t much going on from the upperclassmen. The Huskies did have the lead halfway through the 2nd half with a 51-50 score. However, mental errors struck again as Jamal Bey got hit with a technical foul for taunting, giving the momentum back to the Cougs. And the rest is the same that we have seen the entire season, another loss of composure by the Purple and Gold and another loss in the standings.
